I read a book recently and I was inspired to write something and hear your opinion…
I wondered how these two went through life and I felt stupid for all the times I complained about my life…”which two?” you might ask….well…
An egg was fertilized by a sperm and the egg tried dividing into two but the division was incomplete or maybe two eggs fused together at a point and grew together and never separated…we can never be sure… But the result was the birth of two beautiful girls joined by the head. It was sad, because the doctor reported they would die before 2. They shocked the world and lived till they were 29 years. They attended the same school and had to do everything together. Every step was a choreography, they were joined by the head!!! They always fought hard to find a balance point. They had never seen each other except through a mirror. They couldn’t walk right, they needed each other for support.
Imagine living your life dependent on another person’s choice. Living a life of involuntary attachment, unable to feel independent or responsible for self. Imagine being a liability since birth to your twin and people around you including your parents. One time when they were 17 years, they were attacked by robbers and their father was shot and their mum was raped, in attempt to help their mum they fell and stumbled, they couldn’t find a balance point and their mum was raped to death. They have grown now and are at a point of making a life changing decision, they both have first degrees but one wants to go for law and the other journalism.They want to have independent lives. They have told the doctors that they’ll rather die than not be separated…doctors have rejected their case but they have finally found a group of surgeons ready to separate them but their only options to guarantee their independence are;
– Both of them may die in surgery
-Only one will survive to live the dream
-Keep living without a surgery and choose a goal, forever bound to each other
-20% possibility of both of them surviving
If you were to make a decision for them, what will you pick and why? Please post your comments and share via twitter and facebook.
Before making a decision watch this,
Remember that we may not understand why an enslaved or imprisoned person would risk his life for freedom but the quality of life lived is important and the hope of freedom might be worth any risk but is this really worth it?
