So I sat in the bus today o, worried that I would be late for work but God saw my worry and gave me a driver that taught the fast and furious drivers how to drive. Before I could say Jack Ro… we were at Allen. I was so glad, only for Lagos traffic to try and kill the celebrity driver’s mojo. We just met this very mad traffic at Sheraton junction. There was nothing I could do, I would be late to work today and trekking was not on my agenda. I actually hate getting to work late, I am always the one everyone meets at work but Lagos traffic wanted to threaten the early reputation I have built (*smh* I would have hissed but I don’t know how to *tear*). It was at this point my phone battery gave up on me, apparently, I forgot to charge it yesterday. I just resigned myself to fate and decided to use the opportunity to survey my environment rather than sulk. It was at this point my eye caught the fine girl siting beside me with her fine infinix phone and blue-painted nails.
I don’t do it normally o, but my eyes caught her at different intervals surfing through Linda’s blog and next thing, she copied the whole article and opened another tab containing her own wordpress blog back end and boom, she copied and pasted. I know people do it but I have never seen it happen in front of my presence before. I remembered the uproar about madam’s 500million naira house and wondered if that could be the reason the lady had taken this path?
I thought for a while and realized copy and paste never really works for anyone except that’s your niche. It is your uniqueness that sells. It is the special thing that you do based on the available insight (the problem you have identified and found an innovative solution to) that you get that transforms you. Aunty Linda (let me famz) did not blow over night. She blogged consistently for almost 3 years without viable traction. She has been doing this consistently for a while, maybe if you copy and paste for a while we’d notice you but really guys, copy to find the gap not to paste.
Anyway, traffic cleared and my fast and furious driver took the wheels. I’d like to hear your opinions tho. I may be wrong but people need to learn that copy and paste is not the way.
