I have noticed that we humans always like to blame someone else for our failure. Through out my brand class, I set out to apply the things I learn in my life and I realized something. When a brand does something and consumers hate it, for example, New Coke, the brand can’t blame the consumers for the bad reception of their product and the negative effect they face in their sales instead, they go back to the drawing board and access themselves. What have they done right? What have they done wrong? Why are consumers displeased with their products? What can they do to make it better?
Smart brands that stand the test of time always run a self evaluation test to help them survive their competitors and the market. This is how life is too. You are a brand and every other living human is a competition (you don’t have to face life as a competition tho but you have to find your competitive advantage). If you mess up, which is practically a necessary evil that every human would face at some point in their lives as a result of our imperfections, rather than blame the world, your family, friends etc., take a break and reevaluate yourself. Figure out how you could have been better and apply it.
Failure and mistakes are crucial points of the learning process if you learn from them. I believe that no one, no society, no situation or experience is responsible for your failure. It’s ok if you are born poor but it’s your fault if you die poor. You can be anything you want to be, don’t let anything hinder you because in truth, the only hindrance is you. You are stronger than you know. Let every failure inspire you to be stronger and fuel your passion to forge forward. Learn from your failures and mistakes and apply the lessons. Excuse excuses from your life. So gear up, man up, woman up and face life. When it throws you lemons, make lemonade and plant the seeds.
HAPPY NEW MONTH.
